After sawing off the end of the shaft as shown in

photo 6.26, be careful handling the pieces

because they will remain hot for some time after

you finish sawing.

Once the burrs have been removed as shown in photo

6.30, preparation of the front wheel shafts is complete.

As shown in photo 6.25, use the hacksaw to cut

through the shaft slightly to the outside (arrow) of

the marking.

Cut off the end of the second front wheel shaft in the

same manner.

As shown in photo 6.28, burrs remain after sawing

off the end of the shaft.

Cut through slightly

outside of marking.

File the end flat as shown in the photo.
